How to Use This Tool

Blurring or pixelating part of a picture helps you hide faces, number plates, addresses or other private details before you share it. Fixlytools does it in your browser, and you choose every area yourself.

  1. Upload an Image: Click "Select Image" or drag a JPG, PNG or WebP picture onto the box.
  2. Choose the Effect and Strength: Pick blur, pixelate or a solid black box. Set the strength high enough that nothing can be made out.
  3. Mark the Areas: Drag rectangles over the parts to hide, or switch to the brush and paint over them. Use "Undo last area" if you slip.
  4. Check and Download: Zoom in on the preview to make sure the hidden parts cannot be read, then click "Download Image". Your original file is not changed.

Key Features

  • You Stay in Control: Areas are chosen by hand. The tool does not detect faces or text on its own.
  • Rectangle or Brush: Cover a box in one drag, or paint over an odd shape.
  • Blur, Pixelate or Solid Box: Three ways to hide details, with a strength slider for blur and pixelate.
  • Undo and Clear: Remove the last area or start over at any time.
  • Private by Design: The image is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the tool find faces automatically?

No. There is no automatic detection. You mark every area yourself, so look over the whole picture before you download.

How strong should the blur be?

Strong enough that nothing can be made out, not even by squinting or zooming in. Low strength can leave faces or text recognisable. For very sensitive details such as card numbers or passwords, use the solid black box.

Can the blur be undone later?

The downloaded file does not contain the original pixels under a hidden area. A weak blur or mosaic can still give clues about what was there, so use a high strength or the solid box when it matters.

Will the downloaded image still contain my location data?

The image is redrawn and saved as a new file, so it normally does not carry the camera information (EXIF) such as GPS location from the original. Check with a tool you trust if this matters to you.

What is the difference between blur and pixelate?

Blur smooths the area into a soft smear. Pixelate turns it into large coloured squares. Both lose detail as you raise the strength.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. All of the work is done in your browser and the image never leaves your device.
