How to Crop an Image Online
Cropping removes the parts of a picture you do not need, for example to fix the framing, make a square profile picture or fit a certain shape.
- Choose an image: Click "Choose Image" or drop a JPG, PNG or WebP picture on the page.
- Set the crop area: Drag the box and its handles, or pick a shape such as 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 or a passport photo shape. You can also type the exact numbers.
- Pick the format: Save as JPG for photos or PNG when you want to keep transparency and every detail.
- Download: Press "Crop & Download". The file name contains the size of the result.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does cropping reduce the quality of my picture?
The pixels inside the box are copied as they are, so the picture is not resized or blurred. If you save as JPG the image is compressed again, so use PNG or a high JPG quality when you want the least loss.
How do I crop to an exact size in pixels?
Type the width and height in the number boxes. With a shape selected (for example 1:1) the other side follows automatically, so the box always keeps that shape.
What does the passport photo option do?
It locks the box to the 35 x 45 mm shape used in many countries. It does not check face position, background or other rules, so please compare your result with the official requirements.
Can I crop on a phone?
Yes. The crop box and its handles work with touch. You can also type exact values into the number boxes.
Why is the output bigger or smaller than I expected?
The size shown under the picture is the real size of the saved image in pixels. It is measured on the original picture, not on the smaller preview you see on screen.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is opened and cropped inside your browser and never leaves your device.
