Amount to Trim From Each Side
Margins are measured as you see the page. Percent is measured against the page width for left and right, and the page height for top and bottom.
How to Use This Tool
Cropping removes margins or edges you do not need, such as scanner borders or wide white space. Fixlytools shows page 1 with a frame so you can see what will be trimmed, then saves the cropped PDF.
- Upload Your PDF: Click "Choose PDF File" or drag a PDF onto the box. Page 1 appears as a preview.
- Set the Margins: Choose millimeters or percent and enter how much to trim from the top, right, bottom and left. The darkened area in the preview is what will be removed.
- Choose the Pages: Crop every page, or type page numbers such as 1-3, 5 to crop only those pages.
- Download: Click "Crop & Download" to save the new PDF. Your original file is not changed.
Key Features
- Live Preview: See a crop frame on page 1 that updates as you type.
- Millimeters or Percent: Trim by a fixed size, or by a share of the page.
- All or Selected Pages: Crop the whole document or only the pages you list.
- Handles Rotated Pages: Margins always follow what you see, even on sideways pages.
- Safety Checks: The tool refuses margins that would leave almost nothing of a page, and reports which page is the problem.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does cropping delete what is outside the frame?
Not completely. The page is made smaller so viewers show only the cropped area, but the trimmed content may still exist inside the file. Do not use cropping to hide private information. Use a redaction tool for that.
What does "Also shrink the page size" do?
When ticked, the visible page size and the page boundary are both reduced, so most apps and printers show the cropped size. When unticked, only the visible area is set, and some apps may still show the full page.
Why does the preview only show page 1?
Page 1 is used as a guide to keep the tool fast. The same margins are applied to every selected page, measured against each page's own size.
Can I crop different pages by different amounts?
Not in one pass. Run the tool again on the downloaded file with other margins and other pages.
Can I crop a password-protected PDF?
No. Protected PDFs cannot be opened by this tool. Remove the password first, then try again.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is done in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
