How to Create an Invoice Online
This free invoice generator is made for freelancers, contractors and small businesses who need a clean PDF invoice quickly, without opening an account. Everything is built in your browser, so your customer and pricing details stay on your device.
- Add your details: Enter your business name and address, and upload a logo if you have one.
- Add your customer: Fill in who you are billing and any reference or PO number.
- List your items: Type a description, quantity and price for each line. The totals update as you type.
- Set tax, discount and payment terms: Add a tax rate, a discount or shipping, and choose when payment is due.
- Download: Click "Download PDF". The invoice number goes up by one for the next invoice.
What to Put on an Invoice
- Your details and your customer's details: names and addresses.
- A unique invoice number and dates: the date you issue it and when it is due.
- Clear line items: what you provided, how many, and the price of each.
- Tax and total: the tax rate and the final amount to pay. If you are VAT registered, include your VAT number.
- How to pay you: bank details or another payment method, plus any late-payment terms.

Is this invoice generator really free?
Yes. You can create and download as many invoices, quotes and receipts as you like. There are no accounts, subscriptions or hidden fees. The PDF carries a small "Created with Fixlytools.com" line in the footer.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. Open the page, fill in the form and download your PDF. There is no login.
Where is my information stored?
Only in your own browser. Your invoice is built on your device and is never uploaded to Fixlytools. If you tick "Remember my business details", your business name, logo and settings are saved in your browser on this device so you do not have to type them again. You can remove them at any time with the "Clear saved details" button.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP logo. It appears at the top left of the PDF. The logo is resized on your device to keep the file small.
Can I use it for UK VAT or US sales tax?
You can enter a tax label (for example VAT or Sales tax) and a tax rate, and the tool adds it to the total. It uses one rate for the whole invoice. If you are VAT registered, put your VAT number in the "Tax ID / VAT number" field so it prints on the invoice. This tool does not give tax advice, so check the rules for your country with your tax authority or accountant.
Is an invoice made here legally valid?
The rules for what an invoice must contain differ from country to country. The tool includes the items most commonly required: your details, the customer, a number, dates, line items, tax and the total. You are responsible for checking that your invoice meets the rules where you work.
Can I edit a PDF after I download it?
The PDF itself is not editable. To change something, update the form and download a new PDF. Your business details are remembered, so this takes a few seconds.
