How to Rotate and Flip Images Online

Photos taken with a phone or scanner often end up sideways or slightly crooked. Turn them the right way up in a few clicks.

  1. Add your images: Click "Choose Images" or drop up to 50 JPG, PNG or WebP pictures on the page.
  2. Turn each picture: Use the rotate and flip buttons on a picture, or the buttons at the top to change all pictures together. Use the slider to straighten a crooked photo.
  3. Choose the format: Pick JPG, PNG or WebP, and how the empty corners should look when you used a fine angle.
  4. Download: Download a single picture, or all of them in one ZIP file.

Key Features

  • Fine angle: Straighten crooked pictures from -45 to +45 degrees without cutting anything off.
  • Live previews: See the result on every picture before you save.
  • Private by design: Pictures and the ZIP file stay on your device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I rotate many images at once?

Yes. Add up to 50 images, turn each one on its own or use the buttons that act on all of them, and download everything as one ZIP file.

Does rotating lose quality?

Turning by 90, 180 or 270 degrees moves the pixels without changing them. Saving as JPG or WebP compresses the picture again, so choose PNG or a high quality if you want the least loss. Fine angles need the pixels to be re-calculated, which softens the picture slightly.

What is the fine angle slider for?

It turns the picture by a small amount, from -45 to +45 degrees, which is handy for straightening a crooked scan or horizon. The canvas grows so that nothing is cut off, and the empty corners are transparent (PNG, WebP) or white.

Will my phone photos come out the right way up?

Modern browsers read the orientation stored in a photo and show it upright, and the tool uses that upright view. Very old browsers may not, so check the preview before you download.

Are large pictures reduced?

Pictures above roughly 16 megapixels, or longer than 8,000 pixels on one side, are scaled down slightly because browsers cannot reliably handle bigger canvases. You are told when this happens.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser and the ZIP file is also built on your device.
