How to Scan Documents to PDF
A phone camera is a decent scanner when the light is good. Take a picture of each page, clean it up and put all pages into one PDF in the right order.
- Add your pages: Press "Take photo" or "Open live camera" to photograph a page, or choose images you already have. Repeat for every page.
- Arrange the pages: Use the arrow buttons to change the order, the rotate button to straighten a page and the bin button to remove one.
- Choose a scanner look: Pick original colours, clean colour, grayscale or black and white. The page previews change straight away.
- Set page size and create the PDF: Choose A4, US Letter or fit to image, then press "Create PDF" to download your file.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this tool recognise text (OCR)?
No. Every page in the PDF is a picture, so the text cannot be selected or searched. This tool is for making a clean, shareable copy of a paper page, not for converting it to editable text.
How do I get a sharp scan?
Put the page on a flat, plain surface in even light, hold the camera straight above it and keep the whole page in view. Avoid shadows from your hand or phone. The black and white look works best on printed text.
What do the scanner looks do?
Original keeps the picture as it is. Clean colour brightens the paper. Grayscale removes colour. High-contrast black and white turns every pixel black or white, which gives small files but loses photos, stamps and light pencil marks.
Why does the camera not open?
Live camera needs a secure (https) page, a camera and your permission. If it fails, use "Take photo", which opens your phone camera app, or "Choose images" to pick pictures you already have.
Can I add HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Some browsers cannot read HEIC pictures. If an image is rejected, convert it to JPG first, for example with the HEIC to JPG tool on this site, and add it again.
Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?
No. Pictures are processed in your browser and the PDF is created on your device. Only the PDF library code is downloaded from a public library host when the page opens.
